John Thomasson leads both our Early Education and Elementary programs.  Elementary education for students in grades K-5 sets the foundation for lifelong learning.  In classical education, these first years of schooling are called the grammar stage.  Just as grammar is the foundation for language, the building blocks of learning are reading, phonics, spelling and grammar rules, writing, mathematics and Latin vocabulary.  Because children at this age absorb information easily, there is an emphasis on memorization.
