PHILOSOPHY AND MISSION
“Devoted to
Truth...Pursuing excellence...For the glory of God”
We are committed to our
mission of teaching and
training students to embrace a
God-centered world view.
At Calvary
Baptist Day
School, we desire that students grow
spiritually; therefore we strive to:
·
teach our students
that God’s Word is without error, is true, and is able to instruct,
rebuke, correct, and
train in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)
·
guide students to a
personal relationship to Jesus Christ as their Savior
and Lord.
·
present the gospel of
Christ trusting Him to do a transforming work in these young hearts. “. . .for it is the power of God
unto salvation to everyone that believeth. . .”(Romans 1:16)
·
encourage students to pray and nurture a
personal relationship with God
·
help students discern
God’s will for their lives.
·
assist students to develop a Christian world view.
·
help students
identify their spiritual gifts and their place in the Body of Christ.
At Calvary
Baptist Day
School, we desire that students grow
academically; therefore, we strive to:
·
instill in our
students an ongoing hunger and thirst for learning. (Luke 2:52)
·
establish high
academic standards for which students are responsible.
·
develop ways to help
each child reach their God-given potential. (Jeremiah 29:11)
·
provide opportunities
for learning through different subject areas.
·
use different
teaching styles to meet students’ different learning styles.
At Calvary
Baptist Day
School, we desire that students grow socially;
therefore, we strive to:
·
motivate students to
choose those steps that will support them as responsible children and
citizens. (Proverbs 6:22)
·
provide a framework
within which students can develop productive decision-making skills.
·
model Christ-like
behavior as adults and nurture Christ-like behavior in the students. (I Peter 3:15)
·
guide students in identifying “right
from wrong” and the legal and moral implications of their
decisions. (Romans 8:5-6)
