The Coach: Matt McCarthy
Matt McCarthy was a two sport All-state athlete in high school (basketball and soccer). His career scoring total in high school was 1,140 points with nearly two hundred 3 pt. baskets. He turned down the opportunity to play intercollegiate athletics in order to prepare for the ministry. In addition to coaching, Matt serves as an associate pastor of Church Ministries at Twin City Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC and is on the board of references of Sports 4 Him (www.sports4him.org). Matt’s #1 passion is discipleship and he uses coaching as a platform to make this possible. Matt has 6 years of basketball coaching experience. He has also serves as counselor, instructor, and program director at basketball camps in New England, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
