The Coach: Max Floyd
Max Floyd has a passion for improving the lives of those he touches. Even though an individual with varied and multiple interests, Max loves to teach, coach and motivate individuals to live life to the fullest. He puts his love to work on a daily basis as Director of Campus Recreation at Wake Forest University, Director of the All Sports Camp, Baseball and Basketball Coach and main speaker for InspiretotheMax.com.
Max was born and raised on Kodiak Island in Alaska. He is the son of Carolyn and Joe Floyd both of Kodiak. For 15 years, during the summers, Max was a commercial fisherman in Alaska. He has fished and tendered in the Norton Sound, Bristol Bay and Southeast Alaska. Some vessels on which Max has fished include : The Red Zone, Jeannie Marie, Bounty, Sabatoge, Tara Lea, Cape Cleare and the Saga. One summer Max fished for 100 straight days on the Saga which was covered in the Discovery Channel's 'Deadliest Catch'.
After playing multiple sports in high school, Max played baseball at Arizona State University, The University of Texas at El Paso and eventually the Philadelphia Phillies. During college Max also played two summers in the Alaska Baseball League for the Anchorage Bucs. Currently, Max resides in Winston-Salem, NC with his wife Debbie and his four children Emily, Joe Max, Abbey and Jared.
Educational credentials include: Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Arts in Sports Administration. Max has been considered a Master Teacher by the University Texas at El Paso and is a Certified Recreational Sports Specialist.
