The Coach: Vincent Louis
A graduate of Port Chester High School, Louis Vincent received an athletic scholarship to Towson State University in Baltimore, Maryland. After playing basketball for two years at Towson State, he transferred to Upsala College. Louis helped his team become one of the top teams in Division Three Basketball ranking high as number three in the country.
While working out for various professional basketball teams, he became a consultant with a mortgage brokerage firm in 1987. While working for the mortgage company he never let his dream of playing professional basketball die. Louis accepted an offer to play professional basketball in England. His dream came true playing for team Telfor for four years.
Upon settling back in the United States, Louis made the decision to share his love, talent and knowledge of the game and moved into the academic arena. During this time he directed a youth center called Don Bosco Center, which developed after school programs and organized youth basketball tournaments. This center has developed many top, talented college players. For four years Louis coached a high school varsity boy’s basketball team. Since then he has worked as a counselor for at risk youth. In 2004, he founded Full Circle Kids to create inner city mentoring programs and basketball camps for girls and boys. Coach Vincent prayed for a positive situation to coach again. The blessing came in becoming the coach and mentor for the Calvary Baptist Day School Boys middle school team.
