I was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, where I played volleyball in middle school and high school on a AAA team that played in the State Tourney my junior and senior year. While I elected to concentrate on school rather than try to play college volleyball, I have loved and played the game all my life. My husband Stan and I moved from Knoxville to Huntington, West Virginia in 1992, where Stan did play-by-play at Marshall University at the same time that Susan Steadman was the head coach of the Herd volleyball team. We moved to Winston-Salem in 1996, joined Calvary Baptist Church and put our daughters, Annie and Jessie in CBDS.

After helping Coach Lesley McCarthy just a bit in 2005, I took over as head coach of the CBDS Middle School Girls' Volleyball Team for the 2006 season. Last year, the team record was 10-3, and we split matches with High Point Christian Academy and Westchester Academy, our two biggest rivals, during the regular season. We faltered a bit in the Conference Tournament semi-finals, but hope to avenge that loss in the 2007 TMAC Tournament.
